FlyTunes Brings Streaming Radio to the iPhone and iPod Touch

I love my new 32GB iPod Touch. When I first got it, I was sad to find out that I couldn't listen to Internet radio, and neither could my friends on their iPhones. FlyTunes, a Web service that sports over 375 Internet radio stations and is designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch, takes care of that problem.

The iPhone and iPod Touch both have slimmed down versions of Safari for Web surfing, but unfortunately those versions don't support a number of things that are all but essential to browsing the Web these days, like Flash, animated GIFs, and of course, Internet radio. Now FlyTunes is stepping in to fill the gap where Internet radio is concerned and offers hundreds of channels of talk, news, sports, and music from multiple genres.

You can take FlyTunes for a test drive on your iPhone or iPod Touch, or give it a shot from your desktop or laptop computer. Simply select the device that you own to see what FlyTunes will look like. If you create an account at FlyTunes, you'll be able to save channels and sign in to the service at any time from multiple devices to access your favorite stations. You can even sign up for an account from your iPhone or iPod Touch.

After signing in, you can select the genre of music you'd like to listen to. Choose from talk, news, country, dance, jazz, top 40, and more. You can then see a list of stations under those genres to listen to. Choose a station and just sit back while the station loads and plays the live stream from the Web. Most stations are available in both high-bitrate and low-bitrate formats, so you can choose the high-bitrate version when listening via wifi, and the low-bitrate version when listening on your iPhone using AT
